We’ve been working for months, searching, and following Henkka’s beloved Keytar, and after extenuating meetings we finally got the chance to interview the magnificent Keytar itself.
We talked about his life, experiences, likes and dislikes and of curse his relationship with Sonata Arctica members!.
Interview with the Keytar – the master of the universe
1. Let’s start with something smooth.
K: Like whisky? I like whisky! Unfortunately, I can’t have whisky anymore. Ever. It’s part of my 12-steps-program at the AA. And with AA I don’t mean the Sonata Arctica logo.
We want to ask you about your love life since we haven’t seen you with a date (oh really, how could you have missed that?!), are you dating another keytar or you have a current love interest?
K: If you would have followed me closely on the gossip news, you would have noticed I’ve had some Tinder dates. Some of them ended badly with nasty pictures on the internet and even a sex tape/sound recording. But all that is in the past now. I’m focusing on loving myself first… And Henkka. Henkka will always be my number one. Henkka… <3
2. About Henrik, thanks to your partnership with him you are famous…
K: Now there I have to disagree. I think it’s obvious by now that I’m the most wanted one. I mean, nobody heard from Henkka in months now and there’s been so much online gossip about me.
…but what was the thing you like the most of Henkka and playing with him? And how this relationship affected your life?
K: Well, I like PLAYING with Henkka. Our relationship IS my life.
3. Besides Henrik, which memeber Do you get along the most?
K: Tony knows how to handle me too, so I’d say Tony and I get along pretty well. Tommy hits me too hard and even smiles while doing it. It’s outrageous! When Elias holds me, his hair is constantly between my keys. Pasi is just plucking and slapping me all the time. It gets boring. Besides Tony and Henkka, none of them really knows how to handle me correctly.
4. All the keytar fans would like to know more about you, for instance, where do you come from? And how old are you?
K: Due to regular overuse of alcohol, my childhood years are a blurry mess. I do however know where I belong; clenched between Henkka’s hands and body. In keytar years I’m so old I should be dead already – especially with the treatment I got in life. But here I am, still alive and drinking! Oh wait, I don’t do that anymore. Erase that please.
5. Can you tell us about a good drinking story?, something that has stay in your life forever?
K: I wake up in weird places, that’s all I can tell you. Normally I don’t remember much from my drinking adventures. I lost parts of my brain during the smashing incident in Tampere at the last show of Sonata’s world tour. In August I believe it was, I think. Can’t remember that clearly.
6. After your exit of sonata arctica, what are your plans for the future? Would you like to enter a new band?, or maybe a solo world tour?,
K: You should have asked me half year ago. I was all about cheers and beers, but now I’m into yoga, mediation and all that healthy crap. Regarding the solo tour, I’m touring solo all the time; I’m just playing in a different way. Playing hard to get, playing the lonely keytar, playing with chicks. My life is one big gig.
if that was the case would you like to come back to Chile?
K: The Chilean people are very hot blooded, so yes, definitely. Are you offering me a place to stay and play?
7. During song writing and recording plus world tours, can you tell us what was your favorite sonata arctica song to play?
K: Every song that Henkka played with me was a pleasure for me. Blood was Henkka’s favorite on the last tour, and I could really feel that in the way he was touching me. His touch gets more gentle in some ways and more ecstatic in other ways. I get all warm and fuzzy inside when he plays me like that.
What tour secrets could you tell us?
K: Well if I’d tell you they wouldn’t be secrets anymore would they?
8. Is hard to leave a band, we would like to ask you about your relationship with Henrik’s new keytar, what do you think about him?, do you guys get along?
K: I haven’t met any new keytar. As far as I know he hasn’t found good enough of a replacement. And if you ask me, he never will. I’m simply the best!

K: The bonus track is a bonus track and therefore not available in South America – or anywhere else for that matter.
